It happens all the time in Morocco....you round a corner or open a door and are hit by a beautiful and unexpected surprise. This little pink house with its grapevine covered terrace belonged to the family of our guide Said. He spent the day with us, sharing fascinating snippets about Berber life in a village and then gave us the historical lowdown on the 12th century Mosque we had come to visit. Nine of us ate two amazing and sumptuous meals in this little pink house that his mum and auntie prepared, no mean feat with not an appliance in sight! We were so, so, so well fed which is typical of wonderful and warm Moroccan hospitality . Upstairs is Air BnbB guest accommodation with views of the mountains and the valley, providing the best chance anyone could have of immersion with a local family and daily life in the Atlas.
