Balbriggan has a sweet sandy cove with a yellow and red shipping container, housing the lifesaver and coastguard, plonked in the middle. It’s a little bit of a garish blot on the beach scape, to be honest. The flat grey waters, without a white cap in sight, lap at the not so golden sands. But it’s still a great beach as it’s wide sands are clean and the calm shallows are great for kids dabbling and paddling. I have watched loads of dogs having a fantastic time galloping along the waters edge. I have enjoyed being here and using my time to get my jetlag under control. The locals are the friendliest and most helpful people. Luckily I have another day on the island of Ireland.
