Montpellier, the eighth largest city in France dates back ‘only’ to the 10th century. I thought the architecture was exquisite and the city on the whole was wonderful for a quick city break. There are three universities so that keeps the city young and vibrant with rapid growth. The narrow cobbled pedestrian lanes wind and twist and there is charm around every corner. It’s probably not on everyones itinerary but I am so glad it was on mine.
