I am by no means trying to escape it but it always gives me a bit of a jolt as in my head, I think Morocco is so obscure and distant. A new bridge has been constructed so you can get around town but it does not have the medieval charm of the original. A fence has been erected to stop foolhardy types venturing out onto the fragile remains but it’s only about waist height !! A small sign says no swimming but I think
This is an amazing jaw dropping structure and I saw it saw today on my car journey through southern France. The bridge carries traffic across the Tarn River and is both the worlds highest multi span bridge and the worlds longest suspended bridge. It took three years to build and cost around 394 million euros. The bus I could see travelling across it looked smaller than an ant !
