Time for Tea, Iced Tea

Iced tea is not big in Australia. Consumption might be on the rise as I know it can be purchased in bottles (? Liptons) but I don't know many who buy it. The commercial bottled variety could never hope to match the beautiful homemade iced tea that I experienced recently when visiting southern parts of USA. I am a strong black coffee drinker but I was keen to try iced tea and I loved it. Sweet peach iced tea....ohh my !! It really is the most perfect drink to have as you sit in your comfy rocker on your front porch . One of the first printed recipes for iced tea can be found in an 1877 recipe book called Housekeeping in Old Virginia. This beverage has certainly skyrocketed in popularity since then....understandably !
