No matter which country I am in, I try to visit the local market and it never disappoints. There is always colour and action and fun, and that's just the stallholders . As for the produce yesterday, it was gorgeous, with quality second to none and interesting too. The cherries were a tiny variety and had all been de-stemmed by someone with a lot of time on their hands. The lustrous ripe figs were bigger than the corella pears, which although pretty, I never purchase. Every stall was adorned with plaits of fat garlic cloves and had a line up of local olive oil and honey.....none of which I can can buy and take home !!!! Sad, sad, sad !!!
I love markets - all the foods that I don't know and can't get.... Sometimes, I'm even brave and try some lol
