It would seem that every building in Morocco has stairs and that everywhere I walk is uneven and there are steps and ledges everywhere, created in an effort to level things out a tad. Most buildings, no matter the age, do not have a lift and stairs can go up five or six levels....dreadful when you have luggage but good for calorie burning after all the beautiful bread in this country. Often the steps and stairs are steep, of different heights, even with narrow widths that only fit half my foot, often windy too with shiny hazardous tiles. I always pay attention when I walk, the last thing I want is a sprained ankle or broken leg. This is no place for crutches !!
