The Sari or Saree

The Indian ladies look stunning in their brightly coloured national dress, the Saree. Each sari is 5 to 6 meters in length wrapped, twisted and knotted in quite a complex method. It is worn over a petticoat and a short sleeve midriff length blouse. I don't think I ever saw the same fabric twice and the fabrics are truly gorgeous with lots of silks, satins and sequins even for everyday street wear. I did not buy one as I could see myself looking more like a very inelegant Egyptian mummy after my wrapping and tying efforts or worse still ,having the thing drop off me in its entirety the minute I left the house . I will leave the elegant saris to the beautiful ladies of India.
