Part of the charm of travel is the chance to eat out and try local foods in the local cafes . The problem with this in Rome is how to choose, how on earth to choose where to eat. Every street and alley is dotted with the most appealing bistros and cafes, all with pretty tables, cushioned chairs and shady awnings serving their own speciality , all so tempting. Al fresco is always my first choice as then I can multitask, eat delicious food and people watch, two of my favourite activities. Often theses cafes are small dining rooms with just a few tables inside and several more spilling out onto the pavement. All just exude total iconic Italian charm, seducing locals and tourists alike.
