Three Cows and a Fountain

 

 

Amongst so much architecture that is centuries old in Munich, I came across these three contemporary bovine statues just off the main square. This trio and their resting cowherd has been here since 1964 and are on the site that used to be the Cattlemarket. The cattle were grazed close by before entering the market to be sold. It is now a very popular picnic and resting spot for city workers and shoppers.
