We took a taxi one morning in Munich and the lovely driver was from a Greek Island but had lived his adult life in Germany. He was thrilled we were Australians as he has many friends there. I think Australia has the biggest Greek population out of Athens (plus fabulous Greek food.) He had great conversation, pointed out many sights, dropped us at our destination, arranged our collection and gave us our morning tea. As we got out of the car he proceeded to open up a big bag of oranges for us and distribute them. Blood oranges ! So generous, so kind !
