Just to clarify, drainage and plumbing are not my areas of expertise. I have watched for about a week many, many meters of red piping being laid along a very busy road. Firstly the footpath was dug up by workmen who wear no protective goggles or boots. They wield a whopping pick axe and work very hard. The road is a main road through the new town where there are many businesses, shops and apartment buildings.. It is a wide four lane road, although four lanes is only a very loose term in this country as lanes seem to be optional. Now whatever this pipe is destined to do, surely the diameter should be way bigger. It looks to me too narrow to bring in water, too narrow to remove waste, too narrow for anything in such a populated place. Maybe irrigation of nature strips ? Don't even ask about the oranges lying in the holes !! Anyway one thing is for sure, the pavement will all be dug up again within a few months for another reason, best only known to the powers that be.
