If I walk in any direction from the hotel there are animals. The donkeys cruise around free range. They must have owners in the village and happily they are not tethered but sadly they must roam around looking for food. The dogs, and there are many of them, have a whole beach to play on but are pests in the cafes as they are hungry. They have accompanied me on some long beach walks. Some have tags on their ears and I think that it means they have been neutered. Some have collars but I am not sure that means anything. Cats and cute kittens are everywhere too and wind around the tables and the diners as they eat in the little restaurants.They, on the whole, look in ok condition. They probably do quite well from the fishermen. It makes me happy to see all these animals but I also feel great concern about their well being and future. A neutering and vaccination program is the only way they will have a future.
