Day 5 dawned grey, drizzly and cold. Despite this we negotiated the Metro and got ourselves successfully to Sacre Coeur at Montmartre. We climbed the many , many steps only to find the place overrun with other tourists. Nevertheless the inner sanctums of the church are very beautiful and I took a moment to light a candle. The immediate area around the church is full of little cafes and stalls selling artwork and souvenirs. Touristy but pretty. Our afternoon was devoted to wandering the little lanes of Germaine de Pres and visiting the tiny boutiques and fashion houses all making their own fashion statement in true Parisienne style.
