Iftar is the evening meal when those celebrating Ramadan break their fast. This occurs when the sun goes down and is also known as breakfast. Families and friends gather around the table to share this special meal. I have been a privileged guest now on several occasions since the start of Ramadan with different friends and each time the meal has had a festive feel . A traditional Iftar menu comprises fruits, juice, milk, dates, harira soup, chebakia pastries and water but all of this or just some components maybe on the table. In Marrakech there is an air raid siren type of blast and the whole city becomes deserted like a spooky silent ghost town as the population in its entirety starts to eat.
Thank you so so much S and A for allowing me to break my fast and share my first ever Ftour at your table. I loved every moment.
