Kathedala St Vita took 600 years to build and certainly involved no power tools or cranes. So impossible for us in 2015 to imagine the blood, sweat and tears involved in such a mammoth construction. It is very beautiful with an awe inspiring dominance over the skyline and a wonderful example of Gothic architecture. It has been the place where all the coronations of Czech royalty have occurred and to that end in a very far corner you will find a door with seven locks that will take you to the Crown Chamber which holds the Crown Jewels. So precious are they that they are on display to the public once every 8 years but thankfully the ancient frescoes and friezes, the immense stained glass windows and the many flying buttresses can be seen and admired every day of the year.
