As you tour a new city there are always some little niches that catch your eye or something special that piques your interest. I loved these bright blue chairs strung up in dangling bunches and placed in strategic spots throughout the city. They are part of a Prague Design Show. Also placed strategically is Starbucks, perched up high near the castle.
You can have your soy decaf caramel mocha latte with the most wonderful view of the city. Or you can have a short black outside somewhere a little more authentic with a big chunky piece of wood as your table, perfect for your ashtray. There is still a lot of smoking in Europe which always takes me by surprise. The working water pump is ancient and you can fill your water bottle as you pass with very real ‘mineral’ water. And of course I found a tiny Christmas shop keeping the spirit of the fabulous December markets alive throughout the year. I have been to Prague now twice - freezing mid winter and freezing mid summer - but loved it each time. Ideal year round weather conditions for plenty of gluwein and strudel.
