Msemen - Moroccan Pancakes

You can find camels and dates and deserts in other parts of the world but Msemen are unique to Morocco and for me, the carb addict, they are a culinary highlight. I just love them and often I am in the right place at the right time [lurking hopefully] and one of the lovely ladies that cook here at the riad will hand me one warm from the pan. I think they see me and take pity on such a desperado. This square pancake is served at breakfast and although I eat/inhale mine plain, they are great with honey or spread with La Vache Qui Rit cream cheese. Sometime they are stuffed with meat or vegetables. The ladies whip these up very fast but it looks fiddly to me with rolling, kneading and folding. It is the type of thing I will never even attempt to make due to laziness. So they are a great reason to live here in Morocco forever !
