I watched an English friend who lives in Spain devour this classic French dish [ Steak au Poivre ] at the weekend as we sat in a cafe with a very Italian name [ Casanova ] located on a main street in Marrakech. Fusion or confusion ?? Whatever it was doesn’t come into play as the food was great, the garden setting was tranquil, the sun was out and I did not have a deadline. This wonderful looking meal does showcase the solid and indisputable French influence on the restaurant scene here in Morocco and this influence is certainly not limited to the culinary but spread far and wide. I have always been a closet Francophile - just ask my sister - and so I have found the perfect haven .
That's a lovely steak - and much thicker than I can get at the supermarket. I have found a good butcher, though... cuts to my specs

Remember our very first demonstration of how to make an authentic Quiche Lorraine? Merci Madame Stuckey!
