Well I will take oranges at this point in time and place. Oranges in Morocco are the biggest and juiciest I have ever encountered. Fresh squeezed juice is on every breakfast table and street corner. Electric juicing machines are on sale everywhere, even the supermarket. Not long ago I bought one small sized orange just for grating the peel and a horrified Moroccan man stopped me and directed me to much bigger oranges of a higher quality. He did not want me to miss out on trying the best local produce. Sliced oranges and canelle [cinnamon] is a very popular , light summery dessert here and very simple to prepare. Serving it with a berry sorbet really takes it up a notch, is refreshing in the heat and becomes a sunset on a plate.
Spain and Andorra were the same. We bought a juicer and big bags of juice oranges all winter long.
