Plaza Mayor, Madrid - part 2

Nine entries into Plaza Mayor means nine opportunities to wander different cobbled lane ways, nine chances see many lovely pastel hostals and baroque style apartment buildings and nine ways to escape the crowds to find solace in a hidden cafe. We headed down steep steps under a covered darkish archway and found a wonderful artisan jewellery shop and gallery at the bottom of the staircase. After some purchases were made we took shelter from a downpour and enjoyed our first [but not last] sample of Madrid’s churros and hot chocolate.
