When you have 7 people, 7 individual choices, 7 single bags and 7 payments it amounts to a fair bit of confusion when macaron shopping. Choosing a flavour was a challenge in itself. I thought salted caramel would be incredible when channelled into a macaron but found myself biting into an exquisite morsel of mandarin. A major mix up had occurred and the salted caramel had vanished rapidly, consumed but enjoyed in error .The mandarin macaron had a definite citrus tang and was the colour of a perfect Moroccan sunset.
At the Chocolate Fair there is always a stand with little macarons, about the size of a coin. And there are about 25 flavors... I always buy a bagful.

Mmmmm, macarons! When we were in Luxembourg & Belgium over the Christmas holidays in 2006, I went to a shop called Wenge in Luxembourg City that had the most amazing macarons - I still remember the beautiful bright green & purple ones :-) I think the colours appealed to me as much as the flavours!
