Hier soir, j' ai parle avec l'homme qui vends les bouteilles de l'eau pres de mon apartement !!! He speaks Arabic and French and I speak English and understand the bare minimum when it comes to French. I frequently buy my water from him and he always gives me a few new Arabic words to try and pronounce. Last night's conversation came from left field, thats for sure. He asked my advice on where to buy clothes for his wife !!!! Well, at least I think he did !!! Now, I am no fashionista and was wearing a jacket purchased in the boyswear department of a store here . Clearly that shows I am not qualified for this role. But it shows that there is an opening for personal clothes shoppers and advisers right here in Marrakech for the right person. Best if your French and Arabic is fluent. It does worry me somewhat that I may well have missed the gist of the entire conversation but I do know for sure that wives and clothes {les vetements and les femmes } were mentioned. What if he was offering to buy me clothes, a ladies coat perhaps ???????? Time will tell !!!
From the sound of it, you did really well with your French conversation :-) Funny that he asked you where to buy clothes for his wife :-) I'm much better at understanding written French than spoken French.

Perhaps based on your coat-of-choice he was suggesting you should ask for a few fashion tips from his wife!

I hate it when I think I understand a conversation, then later start with the 'but what if they really meant...' I worry that I will really get myself in trouble LOL
Can't wait to meet your Moroccan 'family'
