I left the house at 8.15 and on returning at 1.15 from work found the door open, broken glass everywhere on the porch and the house ransacked. I called 000 and waited for the police. Every electronic item has been taken and all the chargers, all my jewellery, my heart rate monitor, a new suitcase even a box of chocolates. They left a mess as you can imagine. The two guard dogs must have left their posts for the duration. So now comes the task of making the claims and dealing with the insurance company. To their credit, they sent a glazier immediately to replace the broken window in the door. No one was injured, the animals are unharmed and 'things' can be replaced. My friends and family rallied in the most amazing way to offer help and support and for this I am truly thankful, truly appreciative and my love for them knows no bounds.
How horrid! with so much going on and then this..... You must be devastated - not about the stuff but about someone being there. We had our house broken into in the US... I remember it well.

Oh no Kate, that's awful! :-( So happy that the dogs weren't hurt, but this really sucks :-( Why do people have to be such shits. Grrrrrr. Do you think there's any chance of the thieves being caught and getting your stuff back?
I hope one way or another you get everything sorted out and will be ready for your adventure in October. Big hugs to you xoxo
