Sadly and for an unknown reason my lovely weeping cherry became sick and looked quite dead. Over spring it has had none of its usual wonderful pink blossom. I was loathe to cut it down as you can imagine. Then suddenly some sapling branches have sprung forth from way down low on the trunk. This means it is not all dead but the upper three quarters have been lopped off to give these new sprouting bits a fighting chance.
2 years ago my crab apple tree bloomed beautifully (as usual). Before the blossoms even faded the tree was dead. I watched carefully - truly dead. Hope yours makes it.
