You can teach an old dog new tricks !! I tried this yesterday and it was a great success, a proven variation on a theme !! Hard boiled eggs have many uses but what a pill it is trying to peel them and half the white keeps sticking to the shell and bits are broken off everywhere . Well, try steaming them and it will never happen again. I used a metal steamer but bamboo would be great too . Steam room temperature eggs over steadily boiling water for 12 minutes, cool for 15 minutes then peel.
I've never heard of steaming eggs - wonder what the difference is between steaming and boiling that makes the eggs easier to peel.
