My new artwork is finally in position, up and hanging on the wall in our living/family room. My sister bought several canvases back from India and she gave me one. She had it stretched onto a frame so all I had to do was get the picture hook. Well, I move slowly with DIY type projects and so we have had this lovely canvas propped up agains the wall for some months. Not any more !! It now takes pride of place in our family room. It is lovely with bright colours but not so bright they shout primary school at you.
Looks really lovely in these photos and I think it will be a lovely background ain future photos too... tell Kelly if she is interested - it is a folk art style in the Malwa tradition. Many homes have similar designs painted straight onto the wall. The portable ones on canvas are for "events" - weddings, parties, festivals etc

It's beautiful! I love the bold colours and the design. It's a little bit folk-like - it actually reminds me of Amish hex signs: http://www.hortusmagnificent.com/blog/2012/08/19/pennsylvania-dutch-hex-signs/?standalone=yes
