Out with the old and in with the new !! I have pulled out the shabby aftermath of the summer vegies in one of my garden beds, mulched and re sewn ! I have planted rocket and mixed lettuces and 3 coriander plants and some daisies. I know the daisies aren't edible but they may provide a bit of colour as the winter grey days become prevalent. The other garden bed still has vigorous growth going on and I have a new round of flowers on the tomato plants. Loads of green peppers are lurking beneath their leafy foliage and the basil is still very robust as is the silverbeet. My delight in picking my fresh produce to cook with or to give as gifts just never wanes.
How do you manage to grow veggies without your dogs eating them? I tried growing a cherry tomato plant on the back deck last summer, and Squirt ate the tomatoes off of it :-( I'd love to grow my own veggies, but they'd just end up being a Squirt buffet!
