I have seen flocks of cockatoos often in rural areas and small groups of them in local parks but never have I seen them in my street in such huge numbers. I think it is a seasonal thing as they are eating conkers from our very big oak trees. They make an enormous amount of noise screeching and eating and a huge mess ensues as they shake and shred the trees. They also seem very fond of a tree in my neighbour's garden that is covered in tiny red berries. Usually the cockatoos I see locally are the sulphur crested ones but these ones are called Peach Faced Cockatoos and have no crest. They have pale lemon under their wings. I was lucky enough to find a souvenir in my garden, one of them had dropeed a big feather.
That last photo with the flying wings could be in the local newspaper!
