I love to take cookies to friends. They are easy to do and everyone loves to eat them. I made a big batch of jumbo sized choc nut cookies to take to our family Good Friday brunch. The recipe is really an all into the food processor type and the liquid and sweetness comes from a can of sweetened condensed milk, this makes them chewie too, I think. It was hard to stop at one. We also had some wonderful hot cross buns and my mum's fabulous simnel cake with a marzipan layer in the middle and browned marzipan on top.
In my family we don't give chocolate eggs any more since everyone is grown up but we do all love to get together, pets included, and eat and everyone contributes. I took cookies and my home grown basil as shared gifts this year.
I miss family holidays and all the yummy food. My grandma used to make sticky buns every year for Easter. I'm debating making a batch tomorrow - the only problem is, they're SO good and taste best when they're fresh from the oven, and I'm worried I'll eat all of them! Well, I suppose I could let hubby have one or two ;-)
Hope you're enjoying Easter and the long weekend :-)
