Pears are just wonderful right now - it really is peak pear season. They are glorious colours and big and plump and juicy. My problem is that a big bag for $2.00, whilst a bargain, is not a bargain unless they are all eaten when they are ripe and golden. I diced up 3 last night and made a healthy pear and oat spice cake and then ruined the whole healthy concept but whipping up a big squidgy sour cream and chocolate frosting.
I have a great recipe of pear and chocolate muffins you could try.

Doesn't the healthy of the cake balance out the unhealthy of the icing and result in 0 calories? ;-) The cake looks so good!
