Slow Growing

Here is my rhubarb growing - growing at a snail's pace ! Last year I put in rhubarb and it amounted to maybe one caterpillar-eaten stalk - certainly not pickable or edible. So I am trying again. The plant looks healthy but it is taking an age to increase in size. I love rhubarb especially when put with apple or berries. I just wonder if I will actually get more than one miserable stalk to put in a crumble.

Here in California it's slugs and snails that eat rhubarb. The Gardener goes out after dark and dispatches them.

Did you try giving it a little bit of plant food? Rhubarb usually grows like crazy, maybe this guy just needs a little boost :-)
