My Wednesday has been and gone and I am onto Thursday but Kelly is still enjoying what is often known here as Hump Day. Check her blog to see great inspiration here.I have another really easy recipe to post today, one that deals with those times when we have either a glut of apples or pears or both. I had loads of Buerre Bosc pears last week so into the baking dish they went.
Ingredients: Baked Citrus Apples & Pears
Directions:
Prep Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 50 mins
- 1 Preheat the oven to 350°F
- 2 Place the pear and apples quarters in a flameproof dish with the cinnamon stick, nutmeg, raisins, lemon and orange juice with the zest strips.
- 3 Cover the dish with foil and bake in the oven for about 35-40 minutes or until the fruit is just soft.
- 4 Serve warm with creme fraiche or yogurt.
This sounds delicious and healthy, fortunately I have pears and apples at home, so I will try it during the weekend

This looks like a great way to use up apples and pears that are past their prime. And I just happen to have a few such apples in the fridge right now!
Thanks for sharing two great recipes :-)
