Today, unlike many others on this holiday, we got an early start and headed into the city to walk across Tower Bridge, it spans the Thames and was built in 1894. Then we headed to lunch with old family friends who live very close to Hampton Court Palace. We went by train to Surbiton from Waterloo. By the time we headed back it was dark. It gets dark here by 4pm !! I, then, had an appointment with a local hairdresser here in Golders Green to adddress my depressingly grey hairline. I left the salon with copper highlights so will return home with a little bit of new look. Tomorrow we pack up our spread out belongings - it doesn't take us long to make a big mess it seems. We move into a hotel on Hyde Park just for the 2 nights ahead of our return to Melbourne. Our luggage seems to have expanded every time we move possibly resembling our waistlines !!
Hahaha! Love the Mr. Humbug sign :-)
I know what you mean about the expanding luggage. Ours was a LOT bigger on the trip home. Too bad it didn`t actually MAKE it home.... it`s supposed to be delivered today. I hope so, because the two missing bags are full of all the things we bought in Budapest, plus most of our clothes!

I've been catching up - looks like you are having a fantastic holiday - complete with a new 'look' How fun!
Christmas day can be, um. interesting when traveling. We've had some very unconventional meals as well - but your Turkish dinner looks wonderful.

I can't believe how fast your trip has flown! Such a long time since I've heard mention of Surbiton too.... And very daring of you to try a random hair salon!
