Well the answer to that age old question for tonight is risotto, pea and mushroom. I am not a patient risotto maker so this would be the "philistine" version where all the stock and wine goes into the pot in one hit, the timer is set and the cook returns at periodic intervals to check it hasn't boiled dry !!! End result is a good mid week family dinner.
I don't think you should feel guilty about not stirring - just go with whatever works!
I have a lovely pumpkin risotto recipe that is similar in that everything goes in - then it all goes in the oven. It always comes out beautifully.

I'm not prepared to "stand there" either and Mum even puts hers in the oven - the purists would be horrified - and both of our results, like yours, are perfectly fine!
