Just look at these buds on my passionfruit. Does this mean fruit ?? Possibly 2 years ago I planted 2 passionfruit vines along my fence. They struggled hideously, one more so than the other, being nibbled at by every caterpillar known to mankind. I was driven to using a chemical spray and once the constant leaf eating abated the vines took off, again one more so than the other. Now one is just covered in these buds, even with flowers opening since I took these photos. Does a flower mean a fruit. I know with passionfruit you are meant to have a male and female plant. I have no clue what I have in this regard so I truly live in hope that by midsummer I will be enjoying passionfruit pavlova - oh, I can't wait for that !!
Flowers MUST mean fruit! Two years ago, our cherry tree had about 3 flowers in the spring and no cherries. Last year, it was covered in flowers in the spring and then we had LOADS of cherries!
Fingers crossed you get lots of passionfruit :-)

We used to have heaps of passionfruit here, all over the shed from just one vine, but it suddenly died a few years ago - sad! I seriously hope yours are not just ornamental!

I was very pleased to note a large and flourishing passionfruit vine when we moved into our current home. It flowered like crazy, but never set any fruit and I subsequently discovered it to be an ornamental variety. I was seriously cheesed off!

I had gorgeous passion fruit vines on my house in the Vendee and they were always covered in flowers during the summer. Never saw a fruit though.... Probably too far north. Our kiwifruit, though, produced thousands!
