I baked apples for the first time in my crockpot last week. I filled them with cranberries, sultanas and dried apricot snippets. And the result was fabulous. I used some big pink ladies and some smaller green apples so there was something there for all appetites. A baked apple can be a fabulous meal - with yoghurt for breakfast, with custard for lunch and with ice cream for dinner. Possibly the best and most healthy option is to eat the apple unadorned but there is not much fun in that !!
