Last Thursday I went to this fabulous gallery. It is as you can see a huge warehouse-y space with marvellous natural light. It was the opening night of an exhibition of brilliant and eclectic works of art done by final year school students. On show were fashions, sculptures, film, photography etc.
The standard was so high and it was great to see some photography from my daughter's folio in this show. What a far cry from just hanging students art work in a dingy school hall in a dreary row. This was a professional display with a quartet playing and even excellent catering. How times have changed since my schooling - we were barely passed the box Brownie stage and photography was not considered a school subject. Art was limited to what you could do with a paint brush on a piece of butcher's paper and a subject I failed. 21st century students are incredibly lucky to have so many variations and embellishments on the three R 's available to them.
I would love to have a room full of natural light for myself! The photos look great!

Yes I'm so envious of their art and design, photography, film etc opportunities! The photos look stunning too.
