On the last day of school forever everyone goes wild and turns their boring old school uniforms into eye catching costumes. Babydaughter is getting ready for this occasion. Her last day of school forever aka Valedictory Day is in 4 weeks. She is going with a Wizard of Oz look and has glittered an old pair of school T bars. They look fantastic ! Glittering is always a messy job and consequently even the Cocoa Pop is wearing red glitter. Luckily it suits her.

A La Table en Toulouse

What a gorgeous French scene !! Here is the traveling snowbunny with friends in the Toulouse countryside. Everything in this photo exudes French charm, I am sure you will agree. All so wonderfully appealing to a francophile like myself !!

Best Chicken Ever

I baked these skinless, corn fed chicken fillets in a delicious sauce in the oven. No browning or fiddling necessary. The sauce is made in a pot on the stove top then poured over the fillets then into the oven. The fabulous sauce consists of tomato passata, sweet chlli sauce, brown sugar, seed mustard and soy sauce. You could add or subtract ingredients here to create your own version of my spicy, saucy baked chicken. YUM !!

Snowbunny en France

Here is the travelling snowbunny, daughter21 on skype in Bordeaux, just before departing for Toulouse. She is sunburnt but well and happy, currently learning how to make fig jam. running, reading, cooking Anzacs and gearing up for her pilgrimage.

Babydaughter Bakes

Yes, it's true and she baked the most perfect cinnamon sugar cupcakes ever made !! Moist with thick frosting - a brilliant combination often not achieved by other bakers in the family, namely me !!

Spoon Roll Success.

If anyone wants this fabulous little recipe , please email me. Everything goes into one bowl, even the yeast. The batter sits covered over night in the fridge. Dollops goes into a muffin tin in the morning and you get all these cute little spoon rolls.

Ebonding !

Every second or third Sunday we have a family gathering. It is very informal and is at my sisters house. This gathering revolves around cakes and coffee and chai and our computer screens, as you can see. I am sitting in between the two groups in the pics on my lap top.  So 5 out of 6 people in the room are at a computer, facebooking, blogging, trawling, finding ridiculous youtubes and so on. We are all still talking non stop whilst also electronically bonding, playing music and laughing our heads off.

To Pierce or Not to Pierce

I barely got a choice or a chance !! It happened so fast and I was clearly not thinking straight. I now have a third piercing in one ear and so does babydaughter18. It was her idea and I accompanied her lukewarmedly into the salon to just see if they had a free appointment. Well, of course they did and as my daughter went quickly to buy something to eat so she didn't faint, I was route marched to a back room, my ear was marked with a texta and then ouch !! I am now pierced thrice in my left ear !! It looks ok too !!

Dinner for Two

Last night was the end of the working and school week. Babydaughter18 and I were bone weary and feeling pretty jaded in general. I was particularly unhappy as I had had to cancel my dinner plans due to a co worker not turning up for work leaving me to pick up the slack and work an extra 1 and 1/2 hours at the clinic. So I filled my hot water bottle, plumped up lots of pillows and took to my bed with magazines. Babydaughter18 joined me, bringing her own collection of pillows and a movie to watch on her laptop. We had supper on a tray - hot bread, dips and camembert !! It was such a fun reward !!
