Present No. 1
We have our lovely house guest back from Sydney for a long weekend and he bought me this lovely bottle of rose. It is a beautiful colour and makes me think summery thoughts.
Present No. 2
Baby daughter18 went off shopping and bought me home a tiny red velvet cupcake. I got home from work and found it sitting under a generous amount of frosting. Needless to say every crumb was devoured leaving only the dear little paper bag as the reminder of its existence.
This was a lovely and unexpected and very generous gift from a friend concerned about me driving and talking on my mobile phone. I always pull over and put in the ear piece but now I have a hands free blue tooth gizmo thingy and no longer have to stop but can chat to my hearts content and be totally safe too.
Luckily I dont know my own mobile number so hardly a soul rings me - that should help keep the bill down !

I will have to admit that I am NOT one of those people who says "No gifts, please" on birthday invites - they are one of my favourite parts of advancing age!!
Watch out for the Bluetooth gizmo - my mobile phone bill went up hugely when I got one. Made it too easy to chat while driving up and down the hill.
