This was a marvellous cake. It was easy to do and cut just brilliantly. The syrup totally soaked in to the whole cake. Often syrup cakes are too sticky or the syrup just goes into the first centimetre of cake leaving you just longing for more. For whatever reason this one worked perfectly. At first I thought there would be way too much syrup and I would have a cake sailing in a sweet lemon lake but perfection reigned - unusual for me, down to the last crumb ! Email me if you want to create this Arab Sweet Cake or Harissee.
