Here are all the details about this up and coming show. And I previously mentioned it was associated with a festival which was totally wrong - I was a year out with my info - you can tell I'm not a stage mother !!!!!

Manbeth - On Stage Soon

This is a production my son, the actor, was involved in whilst studying drama. Now he and others are bringing it to the general public via the Searchlight Festival. No question it is fabulous with the rawest edge possible. A must see, if you possibly can. What William Shakespeare would make of it will never be known but makes for a fascinating discussion. I personally think he would be in total awe of these boys and may even write a sonnet to honour them !!

The Last of Summer is in This Bowl

I have sadly harvested my last tomatoes, snipped the last spinach leaves and snapped off the the last zucchini for this summer. I tossed them in a bowl with a little chicken, added some dressing and raised my glass to the end of this years bounty. It has been such a learning curve but what a rewarding one. New skills learned and food on the plate in one hit !!! Now my research shall begin on what to do next - I am sure it will involve some type of soil preparation - never done that before - and then the best bit will be selecting seedlings and hoping and praying for edible results over winter.

What a Wonderful Afternoon Was Had by All !

Last weekend my lovely sister held a combined 19th and 60th birthday party at on old vintage bowling green. It was a wonderful summers' day and I sat in the warmth listening to the chink of those rolling black balls. This same lovely sister of mine is a photographer extraordinaire and all moments are recorded in their photographic glory. All these above and below communicate our joie de vivre and our happiness at being amongst family and friends enjoying sun, chat and vodka.

OMIGOD !!!!Incredible news !! I just booked a ticket to Europe !! On points for December !!! I am going to fulfill a dream - to see the Xmas markets !!!!

Look at these Delicious Morsels !

Ridiculously easy to make and even easier to eat !! They lasted maybe 12 hours in the house, maybe less and certainly not a minute more. Peanut butter,  butter, sugar, corn syrup - all bad but so delicious when melted together.  Add some cereal and it makes you feel a little less guilt stricken when you eat half the tin alone and unaided !!

Look What is Growing Next Door !

Here we are in the middle of suburbia in what is supposed to be a temperate climate and my neighbours are growing bananas !!! They look like Lady Fingers to me !!! I know nothing about the banana process but I thought they were picked green and then gassed to make them yellow. No signs of picking or gassing going on next door. I am just hoping they yellow of their own accord and I get to try one before the birds enjoy the lot.
 

Reward after Ross

What gets us through our gruelling session is the thought of coffee, the lure of a latte. We long for it through that horror hour of strength training. We talk about it and think about it  and then suddenly the hour has vanished and we are sitting on stools at the closest cafe with our coffee, our caffeine, our reward, able to celebrate our morning's achievement. Really and truly, it is the social aspect, the coffee and chat,  that is the reason we go to the gym. Any calories burned is purely a side benefit.

Tuesdays with Ross

Every Tuesday {and Thursdays usually too} I endure an hour of personal training with Ross. He cracks the whip and I along with 3 friends moan and grimace and complain and squat and lunge and complain some more. He takes no notice and ups out weights if we gossip. Punishing push-ups are rife if we are late or if we are early or if we lose count. In fact, there does not even have to be a good reason and what's more we pay for this !!!!! Call us crazy but we are all just trying to fight gravity, to stave off that dreaded menopausal sag of body bits. Currently, gravity is winning !

Look at the Patient, I am So Proud of Her

The patient attended the swimming sports at school last week and although she was unable to swim she certainly could support her team and cheer for all she was worth. She wore her brace over her bathers and as you can imagine in such a huge public arena this takes a lot of courage. She is a house captain and very dedicated . She sewed sequins and tassels on to her bathers and wore the cute red wig and cut a dashing figure. He she is with a male friend, also wearing a wig and a black eye and a little school dress - quite fetching really!!!! So much fun was had and their team came third.
