Look what I learned about today - the baumkuchen, a specialty cake from Germany. It seems that layer upon fine layer of light and very thin sponge is cooked on this type of rotisserie. Photo, courtesy of my snow bunny in Japan, who experienced this delicacy and saw it being made in Sapporo.And I thought I knew everything about cake too !!! Seems I certainly don't !!!!
Also what is amazing is that this incrdible European kuchen was introduced to us via Japan !!!!
