The day stated with a 2 hour train trip back to Helsinki, then a quick trip to a touristy handcraft market {no purchases made} then coffee and cake. Helsinki has trams like Melbourne but skinnier ones !
Then I got to collect my luggage !!! We had a happy reunion!! Then onto catch the fast train to Russia, the Allegra. Lots of paperwork and passport checks once on board. If you wish to travel with a pet then you are allocated a seat in carriage 6 - imagine a train carriage full of dogs and owners !!
We were met at the station by a driver with no English but "welcome". First impressions of St Petersburg - HUGE city, VAST wide roads, fast drivers, ENORMOUS buildings in pastel colours and loads of waterways. We headed of on a walk and the lightness fools you hence ended up with biscuits and cheese for dinner at 11pm as we lost total track of time {and a gin and tonic}.
I like the idea of a photo-shoot in the Pets carriage!
