Day 1 - Salzburg

I finally got here - it only took 4 plane trips, one plane even had propellers !! I saw the not so riveting sights within 3 air terminals - Bangkok, Zurich and Vienna before making it to my final destination. I then bravely took 2 public buses in order to reach Pension Katrin, our accommodation for 2 nights. I doubt if I have ever enjoyed a shower more after all those hours in the air. Today we set out to see the Alt Stadt of Salzburg although I did accidentally, of course, see Zara and H&M and Mango. Lots of walking on cobblestones in quite humid weather precededed a lovely break, where we sat in the shade at Cafe Tomaselli for coffee and strudel. This is a lovely small town, full of charm but also full of tourists.

That sounds like a loooonnnggg and not-so-fun flight! I don't know if I could do it - the flight from Canada to Europe is about 7-8 hours, which is just about my limit before I go completely stir crazy!

I know that street... I love Salzburg. We've stayed there many times - spent our first Christmas in Europe there. I'm farsick.... Sigh. Hope you are having a fantastic time!
